Nhar meet Kevin at the 22 Shop in September, one is selling records to the other, they share the same passion for original and good electronic music.
2003
After a cool party (impossible to remember which one…), they take the decision to make music together, the 22 Crew is born. They immediately start to produce their first sequences.
A few months later, the first track Rikarbiere (Ricard + bière = Rikarbiere…) is produced. A few other ones will follow, it’s the first demo of 22 Crew.
22 Crew’s demo pass from hand to hand to finally reach Marseille, hometown of Modelisme Records, the supernice label of Sébastien Bromberger and Laurent Cristofol, they are interested to work with the Crew.
Beside this, Nhar and Kevin are working with Jennifer Cardini for producing a remix of the globally active Dj Electric Indigo.
2004
On the 21st of June, Rikarbiere EP is released on Modelisme, it came with the schaffel eponym track, another cool minimal tech-house tune : Toops, and a cool remix of Electronic Data Processing.
22’s guys got many good feedbacks for their First Ep : french and german magazine Trax and De:Bug rating 4/5, the track Toops is played by artists like Ricardo Villalobos, Sascha Funke, Phonique, Dj T…
Electric Indigo’s remix EP is out on Indigo-Inc, it came with other interpretations from Reinhard Voigt and TokTok.
Kevin Scherschel
Already more than 10 years of experiment behind the decks for this pioneer of the French scene, asserting its EBM influences. His success during the first raves parties confirm the emergence of a provincial scene, apart from the Parisian touch. His complicity with DJ KORTEX, editor of CODA Magazine, opens him the doors of the REX CLUB. This residence encourages him to launch l'ENTREPOT, first techno pub in Nice, which will see the appearance of scale artists like DAFT PUNK. Of this meeting will result a musical collaboration edited on the birthday compilation of CODA Magazine. Promoter of the FLAVOR and PUBLIC ENERGY parties, KEVIN SCHERSCHEL also produces electronic music with his friend NHAR and sign his first Ep on the supernice label MODELISME Records, and with JENNIFER CARDINI, they release a remix of ELECTRIC INDIGO on her own label INDIGO INC. |
